Old & New
Cycling through what once was only so that it may be again. There's so much beauty in those very words. They're like a safety net on a shore of rocks and waves. Crashing. Banging even into the pulse of now leaving one buried and gulping for air in its most basic state.
And, I'm truly just talking about fashion.
I'm quick to keep. Does that make me a keeper? Hmm, I will totally take that. I just have a hard time of letting go of what loved me so well and so many seasons ago. Like a girthy mix of the bath bubbles and water that I floaty adore, I do my very best to clog the fashion drain on the regular.
I cannot adequately tell you the pairs of shoes I have "just resting" until their time on center stage is once more. I love to seek out those size eights of yesteryear that the unkeepers of the world deem done-dee. And I just so happen to have a right real nice formula for just exactly what needs to catch my eye.
For the love of The Frye Company, people. For.THE.love. I am on them like a stethoscope to a vein. Calculating their beats per minute, their blood pressure and just exactly how that good ole body of theirs born in 1863 manages while at rest.
It's no secret that when Frye starts shouting "chunky heel and leather straps", it's time to sit up and take note. Insert exhibit A. And to prove my point just a wee bit more I present to the court exhibit B, C & D.
There's nothing one beautiful cycle, a couple bucks and a devoted keeper cannot re-create. I found these vintage heels at my local Goodwill for $2.99 less 50%. Someone quite possibly from 1963 decided these bad boys were out to pasture. And to the now grandma who was once that sweet young vixen, I say thank you. Your size eights are safe and sound with me right along with the $246 I saved. I'm coming for you, Frye. It's about to get real up in this piece.
Do you keep up with my frugal fashion posts on Thursdays? If so, thanks so much. I appreciate the opportunity to air out my someone else's literal dirty laundry with you. Wanna catch up on what Cheap Thrills Thursday is all about? Sure thing.
